The thing was, Dick had never actually been that much of a hugger. He got his affection in other ways. Some would say that the catch of acrobats, the feeling of flying and falling and swooping before being scooped into safe, strong arms, was basically a hug. They were wrong, though, being caught was different. His parents caught him, always. And they ruffled his hair and his mom tugged lightly on his ear in a way that was only her, and his father bent down to press a kiss to the top of his head.
That was his preferred affection.
And one day it was gone.

Tony and Pepper were gone. This would be Peter’s third time losing his family and having to start over, but it was Morgan’s first. They’d left it in their will that Rhodey or Happy would have custody of Morgan if anything ever happened to them, but Rhodey had been on the plane with Tony and Pepper, and for whatever reason the state wasn’t satisfied with Happy taking custody of Morgan. Peter was only 16… he would survive in foster care if he had to, but there was no way he was letting the daughter of Tony and Pepper Stark grow up there. He owed Tony too much to let that happen.

Tony and Pepper are missing though everyone thinks they’re dead. Peter makes a drastic decision, one that freaks him out and means he’s giving up his future. Lloyd wakes up from a vision. Somehow it was even more terrifying than the previous ones. The Ninja's stables are empty, so Lloyd decides to look for them. Only to discover that his family put up with Ras and Arin. They made a deal. Ras will help them find Jay, Pixal and save Kai, while the Ninja help Ras undo the merge. And Lloyd is left out. That was a mistake.
(Or everyone is trauma fishing and bonding at the same time)
This version was discontinued. But, that doesn't mean a rewrite won’t be on the horizon. (Maybe later though, cuz I'm writing a book rn)

Tim wakes up inexplicably in his two-year-old body. Which: odd. But just think, how many people would kill to have an opportunity to redo their life! And Tim has so much he wants to change, so much he wants. He wants to feel important to Bruce. He wants to be Dick's favorite. He wants Jason (his childhood hero) to think he's cool. He wants Damian to need him. And really, is it manipulation if his family benefits from it?
Or: He was halfway through the second trash can, when a startled “Good lord” caught him off guard. Tim glanced up, the rhythmic sucking of his pacifier coming to a still at the sight of a black Rolls Royce idling at the side road that lead to Wayne Manor. And there it was. Tim didn’t turn to look at them, he could feel that Dick and Jason’s eyes were locked on his back. He knew they were glaring. Bruce had stopped typing, probably holding his breath and dreading the day Tim didn’t say no. He hated the silence that stretched every time as they waited for his answer, staring him down, just daring him to accept.
“I can’t tonight, but thank you for the invitation, as always.” He wished he could put a frustrated emphasis on the last two words, but who was he to be rude to Alfred? There was a short pause, then Bruce began typing again. He knew Jason and Dick were now probably looking at each other, relieved.
“Well, the invitation remains open, as always,” replied Alfred.
When the light indicated Tim had reached the surface via one of the Batcave’s back exits, Dick broke the silence that had settled since he left. “So much for him being more willing to stay for breakfast with Jason and I here. We’re zero for who knows how many tries, I’ve lost count.”
