Danger Very Very Close

Summary:

It had been a prolonged, painstaking process, peeling back the layers of security, but the hacker known only as JEDI was closer than ever to uncovering the identity of v-tuber Mommymilkers.

Notes:

This is 100 words, honest xD It's just that my trick with the spacing on "rearranged" makes AO3 count each letter as a separate word.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

He was almost through.

It had been a prolonged, painstaking process, peeling back the layers of security, but the hacker known only as JEDI was closer than ever to uncovering the identity of v-tuber Mommymilkers.

He tapped a key. Suddenly

his code d̶i̴s̷t̸o̷r̴t̴e̴d̵,

wavering

JEDI watched in disbelief as it

r e a r r a n g e d itself

to form two

glowing,

snakelike eyes.

"Naughty," came a hissing, staticky voice from the speakers. "We don't like sneaks."

Long fingers reached out and combed through his system, deleting everything in their path.

iplowmilfs69: so did you get her
JEDI: fuck this hacker shit
JEDI: I'm out
iplowmilfs69: ????

Notes:

I had a go at a bit of visual storytelling with this drabble xD I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out? I would have liked to play with spacing, but it was becoming too complicated to do that with a work skin; I might come back and fiddle a bit more.

The title is taken from the set of three comics where Yay's form grows steadily more eldritch: Danger Close, Danger Very Close, and Danger Extremely Close. (Aka the last time we saw Yay in-comic 😭 when will our fave return from the war)

I was noodling around something to do with Roko during Yay's absence, but then I started thinking about the upgrades Yay made to Aurelia's rig and security and thought that they would absolutely not pass up the opportunity to do dramatic, spooky things to anyone unwise enough to try and get past those defences 😂 Aurelia has no idea this is happening, but word starts to get around that trying to hack Mommymilkers is a Bad Idea. Just don't do it, man.
