Chapter Text
A boy clad in a light blue hoodie and black jeans ran with some gifts in his hands. He almost slipped because he was in a hurry, but still, he paid no attention to it.
"Just one more turn then this will be done." He said to himself while keeping the gifts in the car's backseat, parked at his doorstep.
This is Anxin, 23 years old, a very simple and innocent boy. He was the kind of boy every parent would be proud to have. He was handsome and intelligent, and just completed his graduation. He wanted to study medicine but that cost a lot of money and he didn't want to be a burden on his uncle.
His parents died when he was just 6 years old, from that time onwards, he was living with his father's brother's family. His uncle was a kind-hearted person, who couldn't leave his only brother's little boy crying after losing his parents. so je brought him home.
Well, not everyone was happy with this in his family. They still weren't. But Anxin always tried to make his aunt happy. He did everything she asked without complaint, hoping not to upset her.
They had a son named Arno, who was three years older than him. It was Arno's wedding today. Anxin's uncle and the entire family were overjoyed when this alliance was arranged.
The whole house was decorated beautifully, and everyone had been celebrating for three days. Many relatives and neighbours came to congratulate the groom and brought gifts for him.
Music played from one corner of the venue while some of the groom's friends danced and enjoyed themselves. The catering service had prepared a variety of delicious dishes to make the wedding ceremony even more memorable.
And it should be.
After all, it was the marriage of one of the country's richest families son.
The Lee family were one of the most respected families in the country. Their ancestors had built a strong legacy, and over the years, the family business expanded far beyond their hometown. Now, their grandson, Lee Sangwon, was taking the company to even greater heights, growing it across Korea and internationally.
He was 26 years old, one of the most handsome and eligible bachelors in the country. Admired by many, he was the type of man who caught attention wherever he went. However, he had a reserved personality. He was known to be rude, arrogant, and prideful. But that was simply who he was. He took pride in everything he had achieved through hard work. He never mixed business with pleasure, making him different from others.
The news of his marriage came as a shock to everyone. Most people expected him to marry a celebrity, a model, or someone from a wealthy business family. Instead, his family wanted a groom from a decent family connected to their roots.
"What is this, Anxin? Haven't I told you to finish this before the arrival of the guests?" his aunt asked, her face filled with annoyance.
His aunt Haejin, her face lined with wrinkles from her 50s, snapped loudly at Anxin, who had just entered the room to collect the rest of the gifts.
“Auntie, I was—” He lowered his gaze immediately, not wanting to meet the anger burning in her eyes.
“What excuse are you making now? I know you’ve been roaming around the whole day,” his aunt spat, voice sharp with frustration.
Anxin shook his head quickly. “That’s not true, Auntie.”
He really had been busy working all day. There were errands she or her relatives had assigned him, one after another.
But he couldn’t complain. He didn’t have the right to. They had given him a place to stay, food to eat, even allowed him to study. In return… doing a few chores didn’t seem like much, right?
“Now, do you want to waste all your time here or are you going to do something productive?” she said, stacking things on her tray, making it wobble slightly as she shifted the weight. Anxin immediately steadied himself but stayed silent, mumbling a quiet “sorry.”
“Don’t start complaining to your uncle either. He already thinks I’m the villain,” Haejin said, twisting her lips in irritation. She never liked Anxin.
From the moment her husband brought his brother’s child home and announced that he would be living with them, something in her had hardened. She hadn’t wanted it. They weren’t wealthy, and every day was already a struggle—just trying to live a normal life and meet basic needs.
“Ma’am, some guests were asking about you,” a waiter informed her.
Without another word, Haejin left with him, still throwing a strict, lingering glance at Anxin as she went.
Anxin only nodded slightly, eyes lowered, already wishing he could leave the room. He didn’t have the courage to argue back or even form a proper response to her.
Anxin’s eyes brimmed with tears, but he held them back. He couldn’t let his uncle see him like this. His uncle had always treated him kindly, almost like he was his own son. Still, he often ended up becoming the reason for small cracks between his uncle and aunt. And every single time, it was his aunt who placed the blame on him.
Arno, his uncle’s son, kept his distance from Anxin. He had everything without even asking for it—the comfort, the attention, and the love of both parents that Anxin had always quietly longed for.
Shaking those thoughts away, Anxin focused on placing everything inside the car. Soon, his attention shifted when he saw the baraat arriving at the main entrance. Guests gathered, filling the space with excitement as they prepared to welcome the groom and the Lee family.
“How am I supposed to go inside now?” he thought, biting his lower lip.
He couldn’t just stand there. He had to check on Arno in case he needed anything. And he definitely couldn’t risk his aunt getting angry at him again.
Finding no other option, Anxin went in through the back door. The corridor felt dim, the lighting low and uneven as he made his way down the hallway. Stopping in front of the room, he knocked softly.
He waited for a moment, but there was no answer.
“Arno hyung, the wedding guests have started gathering for the wedding procession,” he said while knocking again.
Still… silence.
A faint sound of something falling made him pause. His heartbeat picked up slightly.
“Hyung… are you okay?” Anxin asked, now clearly worried.
No reply came.
Unable to hold back his concern any longer, he pushed the door open—and froze.
The room was empty.
Arno’s wedding outfit was laid neatly on the bed, along with his accessories for the ceremony. The room looked disturbed, cupboards left open, the window slightly ajar as if someone had rushed out in a hurry.
On the table lay a note.
Anxin stepped closer, hands trembling as he picked it up. His eyes scanned the words, and his mind went blank for a moment.
“I can’t do this. I’m sorry. I’m leaving. I love someone else, and I can’t go through with this marriage.”
The words blurred as disbelief settled in his chest.
The note fell from his trembling hand.
He was scared.
He has no idea of the upcoming storm that is goig to change his life Completely.
Married
Anxin stood frozen for a moment… until he heard the sound of an engine outside. He rushed to the window and his breath caught in his throat.
Arno was there, Sitting inside a jeep with a boy beside him.
They were leaving.
Fast.
Without hesitation.
Without looking back.
“Arno hyung! Hyung, please stop! Stop!” Anxin yelled, panic breaking through his voice as he leaned out of the window.
But the jeep didn’t slow down.
It just kept going… until it disappeared from sight.
Anxin’s hands trembled as he clutched the curtain tightly, trying to steady himself, but his chest felt tight, his thoughts scattered.
“I have to tell Uncle and Auntie…” he whispered shakily.
He turned quickly—
Only to find them standing there with confused look on their faces.
“Where is arno?” Haejin asked, roaming her eyes around the room, only to Find his son’s weddng dress on the bed and messed up the room with no Presence of her son.
His uncle, Zhou Minghao’s eyes widened as realization hit him.
He slowly turned toward his wife, whose face had already gone pale with shock
“This can’t be happening… no, this can’t be possible,” Zhou Minghao said in a trembling voice.
His entire body shook as if the strength had been pulled out of him. He staggered slightly, about to collapse, but Anxin and his wife quickly held him and guided him to a nearby couch.
His heart pounded heavily. His face had gone pale, his body cold as shock settled in.
“Uncle, please… relax. Everything will be fine. Please drink some water,” Anxin said softly, blinking back his tears.
He had always seen Zhou Minghao as a strong man—the kind who stood firm for his family no matter what.
His aunt grabbed her phone with shaking hands, dialing Arno’s number again and again.
“His phone is switched off…” she whispered, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her face.
No matter how many times she tried, there was no response. No signal. Nothing.
Of course… he had switched it off. No one could reach him now.
Anxin stood there, watching them fall apart in front of him, his own eyes filling again.
“Why did you do this, Arno hyung?” he thought painfully.
His lips trembled as another thought hit him harder.
“Why did you leave him alone?I told you to be with her… you useless boy?” haejin yelled at him.
Anxin looked at his aunt, his expression tightening slightly, but he stayed silent. Now was not the time for arguments or blame.
“What am I going to say to them? How am I supposed to face the Lee family?” Zhou Minghao whispered in a broken voice.
His eyes were wet, his hands trembling as he covered his face for a moment. He had always worked hard to maintain dignity in society, to keep his family respected no matter how simple their life was.
When the Lee family had come forward with the marriage proposal, he had been relieved… even proud. It felt like stability had finally arrived for them.
But now… everything felt like it was slipping away.
“Maybe we can talk to them,” Anxin said softly. “We can apologise. But uncle… please take care of yourself first. Your health—this stress isn’t good for you.”
He knew Zhou Minghao’s heart condition. One strong shock like this could make things worse.
His uncle let out a shaky breath, his voice breaking. “My son didn’t even think once before doing this… and here you are trying to comfort me.”
His words hung heavily in the air, filled with pain and disbelief.
Damini was pacing back and forth, her mind racing as she tried to think of a way to cover up the situation before anyone else found out.
“We can still fix this,” she muttered under her breath, more to herself than anyone else.
Then suddenly—she stopped.
“Why don’t we get him married to Sangwon today?” she said, dropping the words like a bomb.
Anxin froze.
For a moment, he couldn’t even process what he had heard.
“What…?” he whispered, barely audible.
Zhou Minghao turned sharply toward his wife, disbelief turning into anger. “Are you out of your mind?”
His voice was low but sharp.
“You are not getting my point,” haejin snapped back quickly. “If there is no wedding today, do you understand what will happen? Everyone will ask questions. The Lee family will never forgive this humiliation.”
“I don’t care,” Zhou Minghao said, pushing himself up despite the weakness in his body. “Whatever happens, I will face it myself. But I will not do something like this to him. He is innocent.”
As soon as he finished, his breath hitched and he started coughing violently, one hand pressing against his chest.
“Uncle!” Anxin rushed forward immediately, holding him steady. “Please sit down. Don’t stress yourself like this.” He said and looked towards his aunt
“Why is she doing this?” her thoughts going into frenzy
Haejin’s voice rose again, sharper this time.
“He is your son, isn’t he? Can’t he do this for us? After everything we’ve done for him—years of taking care of him, giving him a home, food, everything—”
“Enough!” Zhou Minghao cut her off suddenly, his voice shaking with anger and pain. “Stop this nonsense before I show you a side of me you won’t like.”
His breathing grew heavier, his chest tightening as the stress overwhelmed him. Sweat formed on his forehead as he struggled to stay steady.
“Auntie, what are you saying…?” Anxin whispered, his voice breaking. “How can that even be possible? I’m not the groom…”
His lips trembled.
Why was it always him?
Why was he always the one caught in situations he never chose?
“You ungrateful boy, shut up!” Haejin snapped at him immediately. “I told you to stay with Arno. If you had listened, none of this would’ve happened!”
Anxin lowered his head, his fingers clutching the edge of his clothes tightly. He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know what to do.
“This is your chance to repay what we’ve done for you,” Haejin continued, her tone shifting, more controlled now as she tried to convince them. “I’ll handle everything. The Lee family is a good match. A very good family. If I had another son, I wouldn’t even think twice—I’d send him without asking.”
She looked at her husband, pushing the thought further. “He will be happy there. Just think about it.”
Zhou Minghao slowly looked at Anxin, guilt and helplessness mixing in his eyes.
Anxin stood there in silence.
They were right about one thing.
This family had raised him. Given him shelter. Food. A future.
Without them… he would have nothing.
They were her only family.
And you are supposed to do anything for your family righ?
And maybe… that meant he was supposed to give something back.
Got it — here’s the corrected version in your BL story with Anxin, Haejin, Zhou Minghao, Arno, Lee Sangwon consistent:
“Anxin…, I—” Zhou Minghao hesitated.
His voice cracked slightly. He knew what he was about to ask was unfair. He knew it was selfish. But he couldn’t see any other way out of this situation.
Before he could finish, Anxin spoke.
“I’ll marry him,” he said softly.
The room went silent.
Even Haejin froze for a moment, as if she hadn’t expected him to agree so quickly.
Anxin lowered his gaze, his hands trembling slightly, but his voice remained steady.
“If this is the only way to fix everything… then I’ll do it.”
After some hours…
Anxin sat on a large, comfortable bed, his head lowered, still dressed in someone else’s wedding outfit. A veil covered his face, unchanged since the ceremony ended.
Now he was here—inside a stranger’s home.
Just a few hours ago, everything had been turned upside down. He had been pulled into a marriage that was never meant to be his… now he was the one standing in Arno’s place.
His husband—Lee Sangwon.
That was all he knew. Only a name. Nothing about the man himself, nothing about what kind of person he was, or what kind of family he belonged to. Only that they were powerful… wealthy… and could destroy lives without even trying.
Anxin swallowed hard.
He felt nervous. Afraid. Completely alone.
How would they react when they found out?
How would his husband react when he realised the truth?
He wasn’t the groom meant for this marriage.
He was only a replacement.
He never dreamed of getting married like this.
“Mom, Dad, please help me” a sob escabed from his mouth. He was alone. His aunt said she would handle everything when she came tomorrow.
He just wanted to get over as soon as possible.

Sangwon Pov
“I want the presentation to be held tomorrow, and make sure everything is ready exactly as I said,” Lee Sangwon ordered his secretary over the phone.
His voice was firm, sharp—no room for delay.
“What? Is there any problem?” he asked coldly a moment later. He didn’t like repeating himself. He had already wasted enough time on the wedding today. Work was waiting for him.
He was sitting in his study room, still in the same house where he had gotten married just a few hours ago.
He was supposed to be with his spouse.
But he had no interest in rituals or forced traditions his family insisted on.
He never wanted marriage in the first place.
It was an arranged marriage—decided suddenly by his grandfather. He had not been forced, but he also couldn’t refuse him. His grandfather had always wished for him to marry someone from their hometown.
He had only seen his spouse’s picture once. He barely knew anything about him.
He had never been serious about relationships either. People always saw him as arrogant… a playboy who didn’t care.
Maybe that was why his family pushed him to settle down.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when his parents walked into the room.
“Mom, Dad… what are you doing here?” he asked, standing up.
“We should be asking you that,” his mother said warmly with a soft smile. “You should be with your newly wedded spouse.”
Seeing her smile, Sangwon’s expression softened slightly.
A small smile formed on his lips too.
If this marriage could make his parents happy… maybe he could try. Just maybe.
“This can wait, Mom,” he said, gesturing toward his files on the desk.
His parents chuckled, watching their grown son who had suddenly become a married man.
“We are very proud of you, my sweet boy,” his mother said, gently ruffling his neatly styled hair.
Only she could do that. The arrogant billionaire always turned into a soft son in front of her.
“Now go, your spouse must be waiting for you,” his father said.
“Yeah, go on. I’ll handle things here,” he added.
They left after that.
The room fell quiet again.
Lee Sangwon stood there for a moment, thinking.
A new chapter of his life had started… whether he was ready or not.
He rubbed his face, exhaled slowly, and finally stepped away from the desk.
Time to meet his spouse
