set over a decade and between differing countries, harry and louis are childhood best mates where by the life choices they'd made in their youth, inevitably end up separated from one another. harry travels the world, whilst louis stays home at uni. as ever, life has it's ways of bringing them back together, but it's never the right time for them no matter how entangled with each other they become. unconditional, and at times, frustratingly blind through sheer stubborn will, the two of them navigate their early to late twenties together until they can no longer carry on and a decision needs to be made.
or an exploration into how the ages of seventeen to your late twenties can feel anything but stable. a realistic, and sometimes confrontational deep dive into healing yourself as a whole away from the one you love the most, sprinkle in a relationship dynamic where boundaries of said friendship are blurred with codependency and jealousy, and the complexities of such emotions are explored.

“Fine. I’ll make you a deal.” He mumbles, digging in his pockets for his pack of cigarettes. This gets Harry’s attention, causing him to raise an eyebrow. It’s not that he doesn’t want to tell Louis who he’s going on a date with, because he does. He hates keeping secrets from his best friend, absolutely hates it.
“If you show me who he is, I won’t say anything. Ever. For as long as you are seeing him, I won’t comment on him.” Louis says, bringing his cigarette up to his lips. Harry watches carefully as Louis’s lighter flame catches on the end of the stick. Louis inhales a long, shaky breath, his eyes closing.

Louis is a famous football player in Doncaster, Harry is his photographer best friend. Their friendship has been solid for 19 years, but will the friendship survive when Harry gets pregnant by his dodgy boyfriend?

“Do you always swim in the nude?” Louis broke the silence, his smile growing when Harry felt his blush deepen.
“Sometimes,” Harry answered wearily, pushing his hair back in the hopes that it would maybe not look quite as dishevelled as it felt.
“Mm,” Louis hummed, cocking his head to the side like he didn’t quite believe him. Harry felt properly studied under his gaze. “And what was your plan?”
“My plan?” Harry countered. The water licked at Louis’ legs, darkening his hair and wetting the back of his shorts where he was sitting.
“Well. You were obviously wanting to get my attention,” Louis mused, Harry blushing further. “So what are you going to do with it now that you’ve got it?”
