    One question: are the fanfics migrating because the original site is going to cease to exist or something like that?

      I read their page on Fanlore. It seems that they're closing down and the zines are all out-of-print now. But, at least they're coming to AO3, so they'll never be gone completely. Hooray! And welcome to Manacles Press.

      Good question, thank you! Manacles Press printed and distributed paper-based fanzines until the press closed in 1998. Since then, the zines have been increasingly difficult to find or access. Some of the individual creators have posted their works on AO3 (and perhaps on other online archives). This Open Doors project enables the publishers to import the remaining works, with permission where possible, to ensure their preservation for the future.
