Given the high commitment requirements, both for new volunteer managers in training and for their mentors, we usually prefer looking internally, among people who are already a bit more familiar with the OTW from the inside in general, or the Translation Committee in particular.
That said, we do have tentative plans to do an external call for applications for the volunteer manager role in the future, though we don't have an actual timeline for that yet – it could be later this year, or it could be some time next year. Either way, it probably won't hurt to keep an eye out for news posts with calls for volunteers or directly on the Volunteer page on the OTW website; there may also be similar positions in other committees that could be of interest to you.
