In the beginning, another angel received that honor and set Naomi spiraling with envy and hate.
In the beginning, Castiel was born to two freedom-loving archangels, and that was the beginning of the end.
Now at the end of it all, Sam and Dean find out that angels are real and dicks (some exceptions included). God is a douche. Naomi is a controlling monster. And basically everyone is cool with ending the world, using them as their tools.
Sam, Dean, and Cas along with their slowly put-together pack decide not to follow the plan and make things up as they go. -

Right on his Angelic Mating Gland, something he'd never even allowed Lilith to do. After healing the recalcitrant, daughter-stealing prick, Lucifer is forced by his own biology to undergo a change. To become the best physical mate for the Radio Demon. That doesn't mean Lucifer is just going to accept it. NOPE! It doesn't matter how cute and shy the devious deer man was being. Those fluffy ears and cute little tail should be classified as Weapons of Mass Destruction. He would not give in!... … … Well... Shit.

Summary
After spending time with Azrael over a few months, Ella invites her on vacation. After the celestial siblings' Mother, the Goddess Asherah, arranges for additional psychopomps to take over in her absence, Azrael joins her three brothers and their families on a trip to the most remote continent, taking advantage of the opportunity to properly spend time with Amenadiel, Lucifer, and Michael for the first time in thousands of years, as she's worked nonstop on their Father's direction since humanity developed souls.
Over vacation, it comes to light that God may still be interfering in their lives despite exiling them to Earth six years prior, and the siblings have to determine how to address this threat as Azrael tries to figure out where she belongs between Heaven and Earth.
