When Buck buys a Powerball lottery ticket he doesn't think much beyond his need for change to air up his tire. He forgets all about the ticket until word spreads that the winning ticket was sold in LA and hasn't been claimed yet and pretty much dismisses it. After all, there's no way he won the lottery.
Turns out no, he really did win the Powerball, to the tune of 295 million dollars and just in time for Christmas. He's going to make sure the 118 has the best Christmas of their lives. And just maybe he'll have a good one too.

The Fourth of July is anything but a quiet affair in Smallville, Kansas, Tim learns. It seems like the whole town has converged on the Kent family farm.
He's sweaty, skin burned pink under the baking Kansas sun. Kon laughs when he reappears at Tim's side. "Someone forgot sunscreen," he teases, grabbing Tim's hand and towing him inside. It's cooler out of the sun, but only just. The Kents don't have central air, just a few old window units in some of the rooms.
"Funny, coming from the guy who literally can't get sunburned."
"You would think someone who can would remember it," he counters, pulling Tim upstairs to the bathroom.
"It rains in Gotham like three-fourths of the year," Tim grumbles as Kon starts riffling through the bathroom cabinet. "Kansas is just… stupid."

Dazai had curled around Ranpo like a shield, his free hand carding through the detective's hair with gentleness that made Atsushi's throat ache. It was an intimacy he hadn't known either of them was capable of, Dazai, who treated the world as a joke, and Ranpo, who treated it as a puzzle to be solved.

Umm... Open ending more than happy personally. I don't know what my perfect ending would be. Lovely story but ending includes a lot of things I don't care for.
Wish there was more because I really want to know what the author thinks is going to happen next.
Also, sorry any future bookmark searchers for running across this long note in the bookmarks. This is a note on this story for me.SPOILER WARNING, like memory manipulation and in a sense a lost of identity. They can't have the prior identity for themselves because of the situation they are in but they can't choose the new reality around them. At least they have the one who can connect with both of them the best. (Though, no offense to him but he's been having a hard time connecting with one and hanging around the other. In a way I almost feel bad for him since the other three will be super close and he'll have no idea why them two seem mildly uncomfortable around him.)
VAGUE SPOILERS but still SPOILERS of possible continuations of future endings.
Because I like the idea of the younger two growing up supported by the older two but also... memory manipulation isn't my favorite thing. Maybe while they are researching, they get found out, conflict happens, memories resort themselves, and then everyone is on the same page. Or maybe they manage to take a peak into the younger two's original time line, realize things are worse in the future for whatever reason since the sneak peak isn't accounting for the year difference, and decide to avoid that future, they stay where they are. I don't know. The only positive thing I can see in the future is the bond between the three in the know (not excluding number four and five[?] but they'll be busy so...) since they all have the same knowledge.
