This work is based on "Darkest Before The Dawn" by sweetcrude89. Prequel Recap: Barisi are kidnapped by mobsters, brutalized, and sexually assaulted. Barba by far got the worst of it. At one point their captors forced Carisi to rape Barba or they both would die. The story left off with Rafael on his deathbed beginning to wake up.
