Summary
Just a simple ball in 1881. Nothing more than a regular masquerade party.
His journeys had brought him to the ball, a larger one but nothing terribly fancy. He had gone to entertain his newfound fascination with dancing, as well as to satiate his hunger.
Although he did not know anyone present, he still made the effort to put up his charming facade. It was something of a self-preservation act he had invented for himself. Back in Paris, he was always pushed down and mocked, never confident enough to defend himself. But now he was a different man. He was a man changed by the ways of immortality, and the harsh nature of society.
As the night slowly crept on, a gentleman in the corner caught his eye. The man had short, brown hair; as well as the most vibrant green eyes he had ever seen. Those gorgeous eyes seemed lost in thought, something heavy swirling within them.
