"Link’s eyes opened with a jolt, and when he saw where he was, and what was happening around him, he let out a disgruntled gasp.
He was back in Hyrule… except that he wasn’t. He was above Hyrule. Much, much higher and above the fields of Central Hyrule, falling through the sky from an altitude even higher than the tallest Sky Island he remembered visiting during his travels. The wind flew into his face, sending his hair into an intense, frantic dance behind him as his body entered and then left a cloud of mist...
Zelda was still unconscious, or she appeared to be, as he watched her body fall into another cloud, quickly followed by his own. Finally, Link saw the ground of Hyrule below them. Hyrule Castle floated still in the distance, and he located a lake of water that he estimated would be more than close enough for them to hit with more than enough time to spare as his and Zelda’s bodies inched closer and closer.
I won’t miss you again, Link thought to himself, the position feeling all-too familiar with his right arm extending out to her.
He closed his eyes.
'I won’t lose you again,' he whispered to himself."

Flynn Rider has never had it easy. For as long as he can remember, he’s been a fugitive, a criminal on the run from the law. He’s been a man who has proclaimed himself to be free, despite knowing otherwise, despite knowing himself to be confined to the walls built up by those around him. Empathy for his peers deludes him, his persona forever hardened by the burdens society has unfairly placed upon his shoulders.
And right within Flynn's grasp is his ticket to a better life. His ticket to power, to leading practically the entire criminal underworld. With this ticket, Flynn can cement his status as Baron's successor. And up to this point, that is all that has ever mattered to him.
Until he sees her.
And for the first time since he was a young boy, he takes a deep breath not as Flynn, but as Eugene. In this moment, he is re-born as Eugene Fitzherbert and for the first time in his life, his heart beats with a defining purpose. It beats for someone else, and initially, it startles him. It startles Eugene because never before has his heart beat for anyone other than himself.
And it's all because of her.

The week long party in honor of Princess Rapunzel's return has passed, and now the Crown Princess herself, alongside her newly found love of her life Eugene, must adjust to her new life inside this wonderful Kingdom called Corona. She's living her dream, just as he's living his. But what they will soon both learn that getting to their happily ever after isn't something that can be done overnight. Each of them, with the people they meet, have to face their own trials and tribulations as they both grow and mature into the people they're destined to be.
This story is a more dramatic take on the lives of our favorite characters, and uses original concepts but incorporates ideas and characters from the show in later chapters. Canon names are used (Example: King = Frederic, Queen = Arianna) as well as some original characters sprinkled in.

Summary
This was just Hakoda’s luck, on the run with three children he’d vowed to himself to take to safety—wherever that may be—and they just happened to run into the Dragon of the West.
Unsheathing the knife—his only weapon, of course he had nothing but a measly knife while facing the Dragon of the West—Hakoda stepped forward to stand between the children and the enemy. Like he should have when they’d come to the South Pole and threatened his family.
Never give up without a fight. Not that he needed the blade’s inscription to tell him that.
After escaping from the Western Air Temple, Hakoda is lost in a forest with three Earth Kingdom kids. Thirsty, tired, and struggling to cope with the effects of his prison stay, the last thing he needs is getting kidnapped by an ancient secret society.
But Iroh’s plans to have the Avatar kill the Fire Lord are outrageous, and Hakoda takes issue. Now he has to put up with his mother’s ex and a gloomy firebender while parenting three wayward children, rescuing his crew from prison, and defeating Ozai. Which would be enough to deal with even if the wounds of the past didn’t have a habit of bleeding into the present.
