Summary
This story takes place between Episodes 8 (The One Where Nana Dies Twice) and Episodes 15 (The One With The Stoned Guy), in Season One. It is written from Chandler's POV in first person. My stories assume the show's comedic elements are simple snippets cleverly stitched together around an otherwise normal life, and that the characters are just living their lives with a regular amount of everyday responsibilities, angst, emotion, and conversation. In particular, Chandler has plenty of trauma and angst to explore. I also dislike the whole Joey is so dumb he has trouble standing up or functioning in everyday society trope. While I agree he is not as intellectual as Chandler, I write my stories assuming he is quite clever, even wise, in his own special way.
In this story, Chandler explores new feelings about his parents, his childhood, his friends, and, most importantly, his sexuality. I have incorporated script sections from the actual shows, but I occasionally tweak them to add (or subtract) certain information or to give the characters a slightly different intent.

They sat there in silence for a few seconds before Robby rasped out, “You have to go- You have to go, they need you out there.”
Jack corrected him. “They need us out there.”
Another beat of silence.
“I can’t-“
Before Robby could finish that sentence, Jack was on his feet, he couldn’t do it; he couldn’t handle seeing Robby like this, defeated, almost like he had given up... It was too familiar, it couldn’t be.
He extended a hand to him. He was going to get up, and they were going to get through this day. Together.
