Summary
Reality was cruel. And hope? Sometimes hope was the cruellest thing in existence. A maddening feeling saying that contrary to all previous experiences this time, this time might just be different. Hope was a sign of desperation, of madness. And yet the human condition was predisposed to it, wanting nothing more than to believe that all the suffering would be worth it in the end. In reality, suffering was rarely worth a glorious outcome. The was never really a reward for it or even a moral that had to be learned to attain that mythical happy ever after. It was just another way the world kept those who didn´t have much down. Another systemic way to oppress the undesirables of society while simultaneously casting the blaming for their situation on themselves. That they were to blame for not being good enough, even though society refused to give them the chance to prove themselves good enough.
She was a burden according to society, and as such she should be grateful for the little that it deigned to give her.

Summary
Bakugou Katsuki was in chains at the podium.
Normally she wouldn’t have bothered to buy the tickets for the UA first year students festival, however this year the third-year tickets had sold out too fast for her to grab one, and well if she was going to choose between the second- and first-year students, why not the first?
These kids were really putting their all into this! … yet something kept on niggling at her, putting a slight damper on her excitement. Something wasn’t quite right. Many of the kids were too self-destructive, too desperate, too committed for lack of a better term.
What had just happened? Instead of calming Bakugou down, Midnight had knocked him out with her quirk? What kind of conflict resolution was that? And she is supposed to be a teacher? Something had to be wrong, right? This couldn’t be normal for first-year festivals, right?
And yet… and yet here they were.
Bakugou Katsuki was in chains at the podium.AKA: An Audience member at the UA Sports Festival is questioning what is happening right in front of her.

Izuku stood frozen in shock. His mind, usually running a thousand miles an hour, had come to a screeching halt. All sound had turned to static and the world around him suddenly felt unreachable, as if he had been yanked into another plane of existence and made an outsider unable to do more than observe the world around him. He felt numb. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“What did you just say?” Izuku barely managed to question the large form of All Might, wishing ardently that he had just misheard the hero.
“If you inherit my power, you can become a hero!” the now once more deflated and gaunt looking All Might had proudly stated, ignorant to the inner turmoil he had unleashed inside Izuku.“How dare you!” Izuku was trembling in anger as he hissed at All Might. “How dare you get my hopes up only to destroy them once more. I want to be a quirkless hero. Show the world that we are not useless, fragile and a waste of space. Yet you proudly state that I can only become a hero if I gain your quirk?! The very quirk that is slowly making you unable to help anyone, quirklessly or not!?”
