Summary
Tav is an asshole and hands Astarion over to Gandrel at the first opportunity. Astarion is dragged back to Baldur's Gate, terrified by the thought that Cazador is just waiting to get his hands on him again. Luckily for him, a certain Cambion seems to be rather interested in his fate. Raphael offers him a pact: protection in exchange for servitude. Of course, the devil has his own plans, even if it's just to spite his father.

Summary
"A Hero of Baldur's Gate" seems like a title of mockery to Astarion, who feels about as heroic as someone who lives a life in the shadows ever could. His dearest companion has left him for adventure all over Faerún, and the other companions are living fulfilling lives while he rots away in his dark office. Working his way up as a lawyer seemed at first like an attempt to reclaim his past life, but now that too is seeming more like a charade and distraction from what he actually wants. Astarion fails at seducing Tav and all of a sudden a month has passed without any unwanted sexual encounters and Astarion, for the first time in his life, has the freedom to do whatever he wants with his own body. The problem is: he doesn't know what he wants. That is until a handsome devil appears on their journey to rid themselves of their tadpoles and Astarion experiences true attraction for maybe the first time in his life. But he also doesn't know how to deal with that. And when Astarion begins to think that maybe he'd like a little more power before confronting Cazador, he considers finding himself a patron. And Raphael has already proven himself to be helpful. And Astarion likes looking at his face. What could possibly go wrong?
