Summary
In each timeline split, one goes well and one goes badly. Statistically speaking, there has to be a timeline where everything goes wrong and everything is lost. But those timelines need to be pruned, sheared off the stronger branches where life still thrives. Cloud Strife is the only reason his current timeline exists. After giving Sephiroth the Black Materia to destroy the world, he's left to wander the barren landscape alone for all eternity. Unable to die because of his own link to Sephiroth, he's keeping this fading timeline open simply by existing. But Gaia needs this timeline gone, so there's only one option: Remove Cloud from it entirely, and hand him over to another.
But this new world is very different from the one he originally comes from. On Gaia's World of the Tree, the most important bond people have is with the planet, while in Odin's World of the Wolf, that honor belongs to the bonds between people. Lifemates and packs, to be precise, so this is going to be interesting.
-----
A.K.A. Cloud Strife is having none of this shit, and you can't make him.
Chapter 1's beginning spints off my fic On Bound and Broken Wings. That's the only OBABW reference though, the rest is standalone.

Summary
Sephiroth was in a pretty good place after getting the Black Materia, razing the Planet of all life and absorbing its lifestream to become a demigod. Then Cloud Strife threw a wrench into things and took it all away, leaving the goddess Hel to contain Sephiroth in a new timeline. With his memory wiped, his power bound, and this new universe having gender designations that are already setting him back, Sephiroth has a second chance to do everything over without setting the planet on fire. People being who they are, though, he might set Angeal and Genesis on fire instead.

Summary
Gloved hands gripped tightly at the armrests of his chair, leather creaking as he tensed for a fight he no longer understood the rules for. His pulse thrummed loudly in his ears while a representative at the head of the table went on about the quarterly budget, flowery excuses made for the more lavish expenditures in the report.
She was not with him.
He sat there and he could not feel Her no matter how far he reached for Her residual warmth, a stagnant void where She had once taken residence in his head and flowed freely through his veins. The very reason for why his heart still beats was simply gone, leaving him with nothing but disorientation and a slow-broiling rage to fill its place.
His Mother’s voice was not among the buzzing chatter of insects that filled this room.
Sephiroth, who is still under Jenova’s influence and currently not in the best mindset for anything regarding the Planet’s wellbeing, is the one that will have to change fate for the better.
AKA This is a FF7 time travel fix-it, but Jenova is one hell of a drug.

Summary
Sephiroth wakes in a field with no idea of how he got there or where he is. He wanders aimlessly until he finds a house by the shore, then promptly decides to trespass.
Or: Sephiroth and Cloud are stuck together on an island in the lifestream.

Summary
Cloud wakes in chains in a place that should be empty.
Sephiroth isn't finished with him.---
"You're dead," Cloud said. It came out scraped dry, barely above a whisper, and his throat burned with it as he swallowed and tried again. "You're dead. I killed you."
Sephiroth stepped fully into the room, glass and rubble crunching quietly under his boots as he crossed the tilted floor towards Cloud.
"Yes," Sephiroth said. His voice hadn't changed either, the same low tenor that seeped into Cloud's blood like the onset of a fever: cloying, familiar, and wrong. "It didn't take."
