Then Nerdanel took the key from her neck, and wound it again. Her fingers trembled, in hope and terror. As she reached the end, she met resistance, and, thumb pushing up and index finger pulling down, she twisted once more, a half turn.
And the world around her broke apart.

Diana is used to being admired and feared alike. It comes with the territory of being a giant Amazonian, one could say, even out of costume. Most people stop and stare when they see her, mouths gaping, eyes wide. Others reflexively look away, as if meeting her eyes would turn them to stone. Diana is no gorgon, but she understands she is intimidating.
Performing femininity – liking heels, the long hair, her love for skirts, things that generally make people think a woman less of a threat for reasons wholly unknown to Diana – does not negate the fact that she visibly has pounds of pure muscle.
This is a new response to seeing her for the first time, though: the sound of tiny feet trailing after her wherever she goes.

Shang Qinghua got that he was busy and probably wanted to make sure these meetings were discreet, but could he have chosen literally any other time of day? Shang Qinghua couldn’t even tell if those (very fine, low-cut) robes were actually fuzzy and shimmery or if his eyes just weren’t working properly!
