Summary
There was a time, not so long ago, when Arthur would have said that Merlin is… maybe not weak per se, but certainly not strong. He's an untrained peasant, after all, unused to the rigorous training of the sword and shield, the weight of chainmail and plated armour, the endurance built by sustained battle. He doesn’t have the obvious bulk of a knight, nor the keen reflexes lacing his muscles. He’s… well, yes, Arthur supposes he would have thought Merlin weak.
On his honour, he will never call Merlin weak after tonight.

Summary
They’ve been treading so very carefully lately, tension in every interaction, striving desperately for normalcy. Both of them are clearly afraid to rock the boat and ruin whatever progress they’ve made, but the longer Arthur observes Merlin’s sojourns to the woods for some unknown purpose (something worth lying about, again), the more difficult it becomes to hold his tongue.

Summary
Merlin is preoccupied with wiping his eyes, so he doesn’t notice Arthur right away, but Gwen does. She sees how the king’s face freezes at the sight of Merlin’s red-rimmed eyes and damp cheeks, watches as the penny drops and Arthur’s anger abandons him, leaving a distinct look of queasiness in its wake.

Summary
“Do you know what it’s like,” Langdon presses on, “coming back to work after ten fucking months, and no one will dare to speak to me, like I’ve got some kind of contagious disease or something? I’m an addict, yes. I’ve made several mistakes, yes. I— everything you said, I fucked you over, I lied to you. All of it. You’ve said it, man. I’m not trying to contradict you, it’s just— It’s been almost a year of it being the only thing you’ve said to me.”
Robby shakes his head, a mirthless, almost disbelieving smile on his lips.
Langdon has been back at the Pitt for a while now, and Robby's done everything in his power to ignore him — until Langdon can't stand it any longer, and what started as a fight unravels a tangle of hard truths about their relationship that they'd sweeped under the rug, and suddenly want to step into the light.
Or, maybe love and forgiveness are the same thing, in the end.
