Summary
Zorion wasn’t human. He, or rather it, was a verisimilar polymorphic lifeform, commonly known simply as ‘mimic’. When he was little more than a spore, the sun winds stranded him on a war-torn human planet and forced him into imitating a lone human baby to survive.
From then on, he lived as the twin brother of the human boy Zuzen, keeping a close eye on him to mimic the growth of a human. They did their best to live well, working odd jobs and studying hard to leave the near-abandoned planet and get accepted into a good military academy. There, they became known as celestial twins, with Zuzen as the scorching bright and righteous sun, and Zorion as the pleasantly cool and aloof moon. Eventually, their accumulated merits and shining reputation qualified them for the imperial guard, making them knights.
Zorion liked being a knight. Clad head-to-toe in light plate armor, he could relax a bit and let his human disguise slip. It was his little secret, something not even Zuzen was allowed to find out.
