Summary
Woonhak's four years old when he stumbles across the 2011 South Korean Grand Prix.
It hooks him instantly- he’s transfixed, his small face alight with wonder, staring at the screen in admiration as the cars race through the track, going what seems to be impossibly fast as they weave and dodge the others on the circuit in brightly colored cars and helmets.

Summary
“It’s October fourth,” the man says softly, “Happy birthday! One, two, three!” They blow out the candles together, smiling. Huh , Woonhak thinks, this isn’t too bad.
Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. Woonhak looks up, but it’s coming from the video. He looks back down to see the man get up to answer it. “Hello?” he asks.
The woman starts screaming, startling him. “Who are you?” She cries out, “Why are you doing this to us?”

Summary
JJ grew up with the reputation of ‘the kid that just won’t shut up’. The kid that teachers dreaded having in class. He knows how to change the subject on a dime, rambling inanely about just about anything in order to distract, entertain, diffuse tension, avoid attention. It was his defense when he was young and scrawny, and by the time he grew taller and stronger, it was just a part of him. So, when JJ notices John B starting to act similarly, to speak about nothing in hopes of distracting the rest of them, it was definitely a red flag.

Summary
JJ hears it from his dad first -- the news that Big John is missing. He doesn't even hear the words at first, just registers the sound of his dad shouting from the other room, which manifests as the thrill of fear, of anxiety, of the questioning of oh god what is it now that comes with hearing Luke’s raised voice. But when JJ does put it together, that Big John has been officially declared missing, that is a problem. Because if JJ is hearing it from his dad of all people, that can't mean anything good for John B.
