“I said I’m happy for you. I mean, about what Max said. You’re in love with someone, right? Who is she? Why didn’t you say anything? Now I feel kind of stupid for not helping you with that girl earlier.” Will says.
Mike’s jaw dropped and for some reason it made Will feel nervous. Mike looked at the boy like he was baffled by his words. Is it that surprising that Will would want to know about his best friend’s life? He was trying to be a good friend, and not think about his feelings for Mike. It was hard and Mike’s acting like he’s weird for it, which doesn’t help.
“Will, you can’t be serious.” Was all he said.
OR: Will has a bad habit of zoning out around Mike and ignoring things that should be obvious. What he didn't know was that he ignored perhaps one of the most life-changing pieces of information about Mike. Mike doesn't like girls, and Mike thought that Will already knew that piece of information.

She holds her pinky out, staring at him with some fond expression he hasn’t seen on her face for years.

“Last thing I remember is you crawling with those stupid vampire teeth. You were so cheesy.” Will laughs lightheartedly.
“When did you become so mean, Will?” Mike tries to look hurt but is beaming with excitement. “You have to admit it was at least a bit hot.”
“Hot?” Will can’t hold his smile. “Were you trying to be hot?” He teases Mike.
“Wow, rude.” Mike raises his eyebrow playfully. “Then what do you consider hot?”
“I don’t know but not that.” He blurts.
“Come on, Sorcerer. You have to be more specific than that.”
After mysterious VHS tapes begin appearing in front of Mike and Will, they’re forced to watch alternate versions of themselves fall in love over and over again.
Some versions kiss instantly. Some burn slowly. Some are brave enough to tell the truth.
But with every tape, it becomes harder for Mike to ignore what he wants — and harder to believe none of it could ever be real.
