Malfoy had shown up earlier that morning, scowl pre-affixed to his face as he relayed the Chosen One’s message, which he decided to summarise as:
“To nobody’s surprise, Granger, someone is very keen to kill you. Since you’ve decided to do the Very Granger Thing and depart on a suicide mission in Italy, of all places, Potter has decided to punish me and assign me to your protective detail for the week, or however long this little excursion is supposed to take.”
Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley, and Draco Malfoy are hiking the Dolomites. Hijinks, Canadians, and romance necessarily ensue.

“Oh, you’re not married?” Harry paused, as if one assessing a situation. He must be experiencing some sort of Event, Hermione thought with no small degree of concern. But then Harry continued. “Then could you explain why and how your background check revealed that you are, at present, legally married to one Lucius Abraxas Malfoy?”
