The scent of brownies baking in the kitchen as Valentina hummed along to a record that skipped occasionally in its groove. A cloud of shisha smoke drifting gently throughout the contained atmosphere as the centre of the apple slowly collapsed in on itself as if drawn into a gravity well. And Etienne fucking Lux once again stimulating the dopamine centres in Heavy’s brain and lighting all of his nerve endings on fire as he panted, riding out the wave of pleasure that swept through him.

Sayeon Lee is unmoored.
For all the things her power allows her to do, she remains trapped within a system that suffocates and dehumanises her. She isolates herself, seeking easy answers and a clear path forwards, but in the process proves hollows out the very ideals that she tries to define herself by. Left alone, her path will inevitably intersect with ruination.
A stranger from a strange land does not intend to let that happen.

It's not as if Masumi hears Etienne in these conversations, exactly. But on a completely soundless level she can feel his sigh. (He cannot be there. You don't have to tell him that, I'll manage it, but-)
(He's invited!) Masumi says. As she not-quite-shouts the words, she feels the flicker in her chest.

Tonya's eyes flick downwards as she unbuttons Heavy's vest, then his shirt. She's fumbling a little, nervous and eager; he knows she's focused on her hands, not watching him watch her. He sighs in pleasure, softens his shoulders and lets her lay him back, and it's not exactly what he considers lying. But he keeps his eyes on hers and counts the buttons by reflex, knowing what she sees, wanting to know how she sees it.
