Summary
Revolution is brewing in New York City. On one side, the ruthless gang boss George King and his large army of Redcoats. But between an eccentric King, a ruthless George Washington, and a simultaneously cute and frustrating young gang soldier named Alexander, Jefferson and Madison have unknowingly embarked on their hardest assignment yet. Summary
Five years after the attack that derailed Enjolras’s ambitions of public service, he haunts the State Supreme Court and pulls strings to ensure everyone gets a fair and just trial. With the help of his closest friends and hope that he’s at least doing some good, Enjolras is lonely but content with being thought a ghost, hiding in the shadows and anticipating the Valjean and Thénardier trials.
Then the mysterious death of a judge gets blamed on the resident ghost and it all goes to shit.
And sketch artist Grantaire seems to be caught in the middle of it. As if Enjolras didn’t have enough to deal with without a snarky artist to trip over.

Despite this being unfinished, I fell in love with this fic and still go back to reread it. Political vigilante Enjolras meshed with the Phantom is an amazing concept. I love fics that blend different AUs and this is a great example; modern courtroom drama + POTO feels very fitting for Enj.

Summary
Grantaire had never spoken about work in Enjolras’ hearing, and Enjolras had never really bothered to ask. The problem with this was the surprise he got about five minutes into his new job at American Bowl, the faux-American bowling alley on the edge of the tenth arrondissement.
Or, Enjolras is suddenly poor and needs a job, and Grantaire happens to work at the same place. They end up having actual conversations instead of just shouting at each other, and Enjolras realises that he actually kind of enjoys Grantaire's company. Cue meandering chatter and clumsy handling of feelings.

Enjolras is pretty sure he’s going to disappoint everybody when he goes to college, but that all changes when he meets Grantaire—a compassionate aspiring pianist who shows up during all of Enjolras’ worst moments with just the right mix of empathy and bilingualism. Meanwhile, Jehan, a librarian, flirts shamelessly with Montparnasse, a member of a dangerous group of thieves which just so happens to need a literary expert for its next heist—a heist that could end up pushing everyone apart or bringing them much closer together.

Apparently their city seems to have acquired some sort of superhero.
Like, a Batman in Gotham City. Only they're not in Gotham City, and no one knows what this guy is actually called.
He just shows up, kicks ass, fights crime, rescues people from falling buildings and burning houses and helping little old ladies cross the street.
Oh, and he also exposes the corrupt dealings of government officials while he's at it. And he apparently has like, blonde hair or something. That's what all the eyewitnesses said.
It's so absurd and so out of a comic book that Grantaire wants to laugh.

Summary
Enjolras loses a bet to Courfeyrac, which means he will have to go on a date with Grantaire. At first, he has no interest in the cynic, but his feelings begin to develop overtime. Everything seems to work perfectly fine between them - or, as fine as it can get when it's Enjolras and Grantaire -, until Grantaire finds out about the bet and thinks his relationship with Enjolras is a lie.

“But,” Enjolras thinks about Grantaire’s mismatched hoard and his gruff but overall friendly demeanor. “You’re awful at being a dragon.”
Grantaire responds to that by slamming his tail right into Enjolras’ gut.

Enjolras is a knight in slightly battered armor and Grantaire is the laziest dragon in all of history. The road to happily ever after was apparently paved with much more bickering than Enjolras had expected. (Or the one where curses and emotions make everything complicated.)
